We'll begin with a thorough consultation to discuss your hair goals, lifestyle, likes and dislikes. Whether you're here for a cut or colour, we'll create a plan that's realistic, personalised and designed to work for you.
-
All new colour clients require a consultation before booking. This gives us time to discuss your hair history, carry out any necessary skin or strand tests, and make sure we choose the safest and best approach for your hair.
-
Not everyone enjoys a traditional salon experience. You can choose a silent appointment if you'd prefer a quieter visit, or a mirrorless appointment if you'd rather relax without looking at yourself throughout your service. You're always welcome to choose the experience that feels most comfortable.
-
There is limited on-street paid parking available outside the salon as well as Grove Park car park a few moments walk away.
Pins & Curls is a private, appointment-only salon, so please arrive at your appointment time rather than early, as there isn't a waiting area and I may be finishing with my previous client.
-
I kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment.
Cancellations or changes made with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur a charge of 50% of the appointment cost.
Colour appointments require a booking fee, which is deducted from your final bill. Booking fees are non-refundable if the appointment is cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice.
If you do not attend your appointment without letting me know, any future appointments will need to be paid for in full at the time of booking.
-
That's completely normal. My aim is to make every appointment feel relaxed and welcoming. If you'd like a silent or mirrorless appointment, or have any concerns before you visit, just let me know and I'll do everything I can to help you feel comfortable.
-
Of course. If you'd feel more comfortable bringing someone along, they're very welcome. Whether it's for moral support, company or simply because you'd rather not come alone, that's absolutely fine. As the salon is a small space, I kindly ask that you bring no more than one guest.
Children are also welcome, provided I'm able to maintain my focus on you and your hair throughout your appointment. If you're unsure whether your little one will be happy for the duration of your appointment, please feel free to get in touch before booking and we can discuss the best option.
-
Pins & Curls is located on the ground floor. Most walking aids, including walking frames and rollators, can fit through the entrance door. Due to limited space, mobility scooters will need to remain outside during your appointment.
There is one step into the bathroom. If you have any accessibility requirements or would like to discuss whether the salon is suitable for your needs, please don't hesitate to get in touch before your appointment. I'll always do my best to help.
-
I accept card, cash and bank transfer. For colour appointments, any booking fee paid when booking will be deducted from your final balance. The remaining balance is due at the end of your appointment.
-
Appointment times vary depending on the service you've booked and your individual hair. When booking online, you'll see an estimated appointment length, giving you a good idea of how much time to set aside. If you're ever unsure, just get in touch and I'll be happy to advise.
-
Of course. If you're with me for a longer appointment, you're very welcome to bring a snack or lunch. Just let me know if you'd like a few minutes to eat, and we'll work around it.
I also provide a selection of complimentary hot and cold drinks, including vegan options, so you can settle in and make yourself comfortable.
-
I understand that life doesn't always go to plan. If you think you're going to be late, please let me know as soon as possible. I'll always do my best to accommodate you, but depending on the time available, it may be necessary to adjust or reschedule your appointment to avoid delaying the rest of the day's bookings.
-
Yes. I'll always discuss the plan for your appointment and provide a clear price before we get started, so there are no unexpected surprises at the end of your visit.
