Why a one - one salon might be right for you…

I want to talk a little about one-to-one hairdressing and why it might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

After 27 years in hairdressing, I feel like I’ve finally spent enough time figuring out what works, what sounds like a nice idea, and what I should probably never try again!

The noise is a big one. Many salons have multiple staff, which means multiple clients at any one time. I also used to book my diary so that every minute counted, squeezing in a cut while a colour developed or when I worked with assistants, passing the blowdry along so I could move straight onto the next client.

Exhausting. Not just for me, but for you as a client too.

The biggest change I’ve made is that it’s just you.

No extra appointments squeezed in and no handing you over to someone else. I apply your colour, then I’ll pop the kettle on for us.

You can enjoy some peace and quiet, read a book or scroll your phone while I potter about or deal with some admin, or we can have a good old chat about life and everything in between.

It really is your time to use as you wish.

If you have any anxieties about sitting in a salon where you don’t feel you quite fit, I hope I can take some of those away by tailoring the appointment to you as an individual.

You can choose your own music.

I can work silently, only talking when we need to discuss your hair.

I have a mirrorless station if you’re uncomfortable sitting looking at yourself.

There’s a little basket of things to fidget with, doodle or colour if you’d like something calming to do.

I offer snacks and drinks, including vegan options.

And you’re welcome to bring a friend if you simply feel more comfortable having someone with you.

I really do aim to make the whole experience one that you can relax into and actually enjoy, rather than simply getting through a salon appointment.
